Once upon a time

Camping in a dry river bed 170kms north of Alice Springs in the middle of goddamn nowhere, washing off the day’s red dust and sweat by throwing buckets of 10,000-year old artesian water down my back as the setting sun turns the landscape around a deep gold, the brightness of the moon waking me up during the night, and the privilege of collecting 1.8 Billion year old rocks to poke a microscope at.  Trust me, there’s not enough space on the page for that conversation. xx
